The central location of Redhays Holiday Cottages, amidst beautiful countryside, is the perfect base for exploring many of Devon’s top attractions as well as offering access to both the North and South coasts.

Devon is a stunning county with two coastlines, two national parks and five official Areas of Natural Beauty.

On site there is a trampoline and large tree swing in the garden and large lawned areas for picnics and any outdoor games. Our indoor heated swimming pool is open every day and guests can use it on a rota basis.

We also have regular bird visitors to our lake for you to look out for, as well as other wildlife in the grounds. Penny the peahen is a frequent visitor along with squirrels, deer and hedgehogs. There are horses in the surrounding fields and a small orchard where you are welcome to pick seasonal apples.

There is a selection of indoor and outdoor games, puzzles and books for you to borrow.

Meldon Woods

This is one of the most impressive stretches of bluebell woodland in Dartmoor National Park. Roughly speaking, in Spring ,the bluebells are thick between Meldon Viaduct and the car parking area on the west side of the woods. Highly recommended for bluebell fans.

Lydford Gorge

The National Trust’s Lydford Gorge, Devon, is the deepest gorge in the South West and has a spectacular 30m waterfall.
Nestled on the edge of Dartmoor, the impressive landscape of Lydford Gorge offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. Winding walking trails take you through temperate rainforest with cascading waterfalls and fascinating rock formations carved out by the River Lyd.
